Iowa State University Human Resources, a unit within the Vice President for Business and Finance is seeking to fill a new position for a University Wellness Coordinator. This position will primarily focus on employee wellness, and works with internal and external partners to advance the wellness initiative at Iowa State University.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: planning, implementation and evaluation of health/wellness programs and special events; assessing the heath/wellness needs and interests of the ISU community; preparing and submitting proposals for programs, special events, and health/wellness practices; serves as a health/wellness consultant to ISU faculty and staff; works cooperatively with local groups on any joint missions; identifies grant opportunities at the local, state, and national levels to support existing programs. Other responsibilities will include vendor management, marketing and communication promotion, preparing and meeting annual and long-range program and university goals and objectives, and staying current on fitness and nutrition industry trends.
The successful candidate will exhibit professionalism, possess excellent written, oral and listening communication skills, have a commitment to customer service, a great work ethic, and a passion for the wellness industry.
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of related experience; OR Master’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and experience totaling 8 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Degree/experience must be in Public Health, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Health Education, or related field.
