The War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) is a national program within the Office of Public Health at the Veteran’s Administration, and is looking for a highly motivated, positive, independent, hard-working individual to join our team. The WRIISC is one of three national centers and is located at the Veteran Health Administration in East Orange, NJ. The WRIISC is a clinical tertiary center that sees complicated patients with unexplained symptoms. The primary mission of the WRIISC is to understand post-deployment health issues, both from clinical and research perspective, as well as educate both Veterans and providers on these issues. The WRIISC Research department is a fast paced cutting edge research environment that is focused on finding innovative solutions to post-deployment health problems in our Veterans. The research arm of the center is in a period of expansion and has increased yearly research funding from 300K to 1.5M in the last three years. We are looking for an individual interested in sharing in our vision of expanding our role as a national leader in post-deployment health research. The position will focus on facilitating the success of the researchers within the center. Thus we are looking for an intelligent, creative individual who is focused on finding solutions to problems and supporting the research team. S/he will work closely with the Associate Director of Research as well as Data Management to assist in implementing the vision of the WRIISC Research department. The individual will also be expected to work with the Clinical and Education arms of the WRIISC to ensure synergy across the center. We are looking for a team oriented individual who enjoys working in a collaborative team based environment with shared vision and goals.
