NE DHHS is seeking an individual to serve as the Injury Prevention/Motor Vehicle Grant Coordinator. Coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate the Motor Vehicle Injury Prevention Policy Action Plan. Provide support for the Injury Prevention Community Planning Group Motor Vehicle subgroup. Act as a Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor.
Use data to describe the epidemiology of the burden of motor vehicle-related injury in the state. Write, coordinate, and implement grants; write and submit grant reports. Plan and facilitate meetings. Develop public service announcements and press releases, educate others on motor vehicle related injury. Teach Child Passenger Safety Technician courses.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent coursework/training in community health education, biological science, adult/continuing education or related field AND experience in public/community health education activities with responsibility for: developing, evaluating, and leading health education program activities; assessing health needs; writing and designing educational and informational material, training aids, and presentations; preparing grant proposals; or planning and leading group sessions. Related experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED: Certification as a Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor.
