The City of Lincoln is seeking someone to carry out all aspects of a grant funded, environmental health position at the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department. Position will coordinate the local pharmacy medication disposal grant project. Individual is expected to implement grant activities based on recommendations of the Nebraska MEDS Coalition and in cooperation with partnering pharmacies and the general public. Primary duties will include: project deliver, outreach and marketing; establishment and maintenance of effective relationships and correspondence with participating pharmacies, and other stakeholders; delivery of health education messages; maintenance of appropriate records to evaluate program effectiveness; support social network medias; assistance in reporting; and delivery of evaluation measures.
Seeking an outgoing individual who has the ability to: market a program, effectively communicate, be flexible, multi-task, prioritize and follow through. Excellent communication skills to work with diverse populations. Desirable training and/or experience: Bachelor’s degree with major course work in environmental education, public health, public health education, environmental health, environmental science, pre-pharmacy, pre-med, community organizing or related field or equivalent.
