The Safety & Risk Management Director for Land O’Lakes East Central (in Western Ohio) is responsible for managing the environmental, health, safety and transportation risks of the company. The position duties include personnel management, team building, strategic analysis, efficiency, and maintaining safety and governmental regulations as well as conducting training, safety audits, and location inspections. These duties must be achieved all while upholding the company’s mission, goals and values, as well as the goal of zero injuries, incidents, spills and leaks, and to carry out safety principles.
The Safety and Risk Management Director will have direct reports and will be responsible for semi-annual performance reviews and effectively supervising employees.
Candidates must be able to work within a team environment. Strong personnel management skills are necessary. Candidates should have an agriculture background with a strong understanding of the cooperative system.
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. (Appropriate experience and knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety may be considered.)
A clean driving record and the ability to daily travel throughout a large trade territory, as needed.
Technical writing skills are desired. Strong project management and organizational skills are essential.
