FoodBank for the Heartland is seeking a SNAP Outreach Specialist to support the Nebraska statewide collaborative to increase access to SNAP benefits in hard-to-reach and underserved populations. This position also works to reduce case closures and increase eligible recertifications.
Assist in the review and revision of internal operating systems to aid SNAP clients in the preparation of SNAP applications and recertification requests to the state
Foster partnerships between the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and community partners.
Research and develop relationships within our Nebraska service area for outreach opportunities.
Work in conjunction with all staff to maximize relationships with current and potential partners.
Work in conjunction leadership to develop strategic partner development plans. Assist in the evaluation of site success to determine type of presence needed.
Assist prospective and current SNAP clientele with enrollment and case management.

Self-directed and self-motivated
Professional dress and demeanor
Availability for occasional night and weekend work
Valid driver’s license
Education and experience:
Bachelors degree in human services (preferred).
Experience in working with not-for-profit organizations is helpful
Typical office setting. Multiple offices. Frequent driving and overnight trips are expected.
