Air Management Systems

On  Thursday, 27, 2014,  from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  air handling units and exhaust fans 12A, B, & C in the Wittson Hall building will be turned off.  This will affect fume hoods and bio-safety cabinets in the following rooms:

Airflow in all fume hoods will be reduced and individual hoods will go into alarm.

Air Handling Unit 7 —  Shutdown

The FM&P Strategic Energy group has scheduled a shutdown of Air Handling Unit 7 in the Wittson Hall building.  AHU-7 is to be taken off the current system and put on the new Siemens heating and cooling system.   This shutdown will affect the Gross Anatomy area on Level 2 – Only

Shutdown Schedule:
Commence Time:      Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 7:00am
Completion Time:     Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 7:00pm (Approximately)

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Jason Ray at 402-681-6029.  Since it is vital that everyone working in the Gross Anatomy area be advised of the shutdown, please mention it to your colleagues.              


Wittson Hall Fire Alarm Maintenance and Testing

On Wednesday evening, October 2, 2013, UNMC Facilities will be conducting testing and maintenance activities involving the Fire Alarm System on Level 5 of Wittson Hall.  The work will commence at 5:30 PM and continue for approximately 8 hours.  During this time, the Fire Alarm audio messages and Strobe signals will be activated throughout the 5th Floor. You do not need to evacuate the area, when this disruption occurs.  The audible and visual devices on other floors will not be activated during this work.

Please be aware that while traveling in the stairs or the elevators,  persons may hear the Fire Alarm messages from Level 5.  In the event that there is an emergency in the building during these work activities, all floors will be notified.

 Testing Schedule:

 Commence Time:             Wednesday, October 2, 2013 @ 5:30 p.m. 

 Completion/End Time:     Thursday, October 3, 2013 @ 1:30 a.m. (Approx)
