Air Handling Unit-8 Shutdown
There will be a shutdown of Wittson Hall’s AHU 8 on Thursday, January 8, 2015, from 10:00am until 12:00 Noon. This unit serves laboratory areas on Levels 3 and 4. Supply air will shutdown while duct modifications take place on Level 4. The Exhaust Fans will continue to run. This will maintain the negative air pressure in the lab areas where necessary. The Exhaust fans will be monitored to control the effect. (See attached list below.)
If you have questions regarding this shutdown, please contact Nick Combs at 402-559-5292 as soon as possible.
ELECTRICAL POWER INTERRUPTION (All Levels)
On Wednesday January 7, 2015, the required monthly testing of the Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), as a component of our emergency power generation, will begin at 0600 hrs. in Annex 10 (4230 Bldg.) and should be complete by 0700 hrs. Please remember that the testing can have an impact on all equipment plugged into the red “emergency” outlets as the transfer switches are shifted into the testing position and then again as the switch is moved back to “normal”. This work will not affect “normal” receptacle outlets, computers, and/or lighting that are not connected to “emergency” back-up power. Air handling units and exhaust fans that serve the animal containment facilities will be off for two brief periods during the power transfers, but will continue to operate.
This shut off is required for routine performance testing of the automatic transfer switches per NFPA 110.
Commence Time: Wednesday January 7, 2015, 6:00 a.m.
Completion/End Time: Wednesday January 7, 2015, 7:00 a.m.
