Equipment Shutdown — Air Handling Unit-5
Tomorrow, Friday, August 29, 2014, there will be a shutdown of Air Handling Unit 5 in the Hattie B. Munroe Pavilion-Addition 2 (4420 Dewey Ave). UNMC’S Facilities Management and Planning will be installing two VFD’s for AHU-5. This may affect temperature and pressure on the 2nd and 3rd floors in the HBM Addition 2 building.
Commence Time: Friday, August 29, 2014 at 5:00 a.m.
Completion Time: Friday, August 29, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. (Approximately)
If you have any questions, please contact Jason Ray at 402-681-6029. Since it is vital that everyone working in the affected areas be advised of the shutdown, please mention it to your colleagues.
On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, there will be extended or intermittent interruptions (shut offs) of normal electrical power to the main electrical switchboard that serves all levels of the following buildings:
- Student Life Center (SLC)
- Administration Center (ADC)
- College of Nursing (CON)
- College of Pharmacy (COP)
- Sorrell Center for Health Science Education (MSC)
This will cause a power outage to all receptacle outlets, computers, lighting, air handling units, supply fans, exhaust fans, fume hoods, motors, etc. throughout each building. Depending on the building, the power outage could be as short as a “blink” or last up to 5 minutes.
If possible, it is recommended that computers and other pieces of sensitive electrical equipment be shut down prior to the scheduled electrical interruption as a safety precaution.
This shut off is required to allow for the reroute of primary electrical feeder circuit connections for the COP Lozier Drug Discovery Building utilities improvements currently under construction.
Start Time: Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 10:00 p.m. (2200 hrs.)
End Time: Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at 11:30 p.m. (2330 hrs.) Approximately
If you have any questions, please contact Matt Monaghan at 402-559-7188 or Mic Tierney at 402-559-5261. Since it is vital that everyone working in the affected areas be advised of this, please mention this electrical power interruption to your colleagues.
Electric power to the campus light tower, the walkway pole light and the blue light phone will be interrupted on August 27 and 28.
Power for the campus light tower, the walkway pole light and the blue light phone are all provided by the Michael Sorrell Center. To excavate the site for the new Lozier Center for Pharmacy building the construction contractor will need to reroute this power and as a result will need to have the campus tower lights down for one night, Wednesday, August 27 and have the walkway pole light and blue light phone “possibly” down for one night on Thursday, August 28. (See attached site plan for location of blue light phone and walkway pole light.) (Click on photos)
If you need any further information or have any questions please feel free to contact Mic Tierney at 402-559-5261.
