DURHAM RESEARCH CENTER 1 – EXHAUST FANS (Levels 1 thru 8) SHUTDOWN

EXHAUST FANS 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 3C SHUTDOWN

FMP’s Strategic Energy Initiatives division has scheduled a shutdown of exhaust fans 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 3C on Monday, June 1, 2015.  The contractor, Aircuity, needs to install sensors on the main exhaust banks.  This will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

What to expect: 

  1. Nothing should be affected.  
  2. All other exhaust fans will still be up and running.

Shutdown Schedule:

Commence Time:            Monday, June 1, 2015, at 5:30 a.m.  

Completion/End Time:    Monday, June 1, 2015, at 7:30 a.m.                                                                     (Approximately)

Student Life Center (SLC) (All Levels)

DOMESTIC HOT WATER SHUTDOWN

The domestic hot water system in the Student Life Center will temporarily shut-down on Monday, June 1, 2015.  This shutdown will affect the hot water to all the bathrooms, kitchens and the gymnasium locker room showers.  This shutdown should have minimal impact to the SLC occupants.

 Commence Time:            Monday, June 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.

 Completion Time:            Monday, June 1, 2015, at 5:00 p.m.                                                                    (Approximately)

Administration Center (ADC) – All Levels

STEAM INTERRUPTION

On Thursday, May 21st, 2015, there will be an extended interruption (shut off) of steam to the Administration Center.  This steam interruption will affect only heat throughout the building.  However, HVAC controls will be adjusted to minimize heat loss from the building.  Domestic hot water to all kitchens, labs, and bathrooms will not be affected.

This shut off is required to allow for relocation of existing underground steam and condensate lines located within Parking Lot #13 on the west side of the East Utilities Plant (EUP) Expansion project.
