DOMESTIC HOT WATER SHUTDOWN
On Saturday, November 15, 2014, the domestic hot water will be turned off in the Michael Sorrell Center. This shutdown will affect the hot water to all the bathrooms, kitchens and labs on all levels.
This shutdown of the domestic hot water is necessary, so that Facility Management and Planning can schedule maintenance repair to the water heater that serves this building.
Start Time: Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m.
End Time: Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. (Approximately)
If you have any questions, please contact Terry Vail at 402-559-6342. Since it is vital that everyone working in the MSC building be aware of this shutdown, please mention it to your colleagues.
In order to plan for future campus-wide parking needs, a new multi-level parking garage will be constructed on Lot 6, directly east of the existing Lot 5 garage. The project is part of a joint-effort between Kiewit Building Group, Leo A Daly Company, Nebraska Medicine and UNMC.
Starting tomorrow (Tuesday) November 4, 2014, 41st Street will be closed from the north side of Dewey Avenue to the south side of Harney Street. The closure will continue throughout the duration of the project (November 1, 2015). Entrance to the Administration Center parking lot will be restricted to the south drive only. Access to the residences on the east side of 41st Street will be through a temporary drive located at the northwest corner of the Administration Center lot.
If you have any questions, please contact Tod Ringenberg at 402-559-5627. Since it is vital that everyone working in the affected areas be advised of this, please mention this construction activity and associated road closure to your colleagues. (Click on photo to enlarge)
STEAM INTERRUPTION (All Levels)
On Saturday, October 25, 2014, there will be a steam interruption (shut off) to all of Nebraska Medicine and UNMC buildings.
This interruption will affect all building systems dependent upon steam. This includes all domestic hot water to all kitchens, labs, bathrooms and showers. The steam shut off will also affect all sterilizers, autoclaves, glass washers, tunnel washers and cage washers in the buildings. It might also impact some temperature controls in most of the buildings. Building temperature will not be effected in DRC-1, DRC-2 or the Hixson Lied Building.
This interruption is necessary to repair a steam leak in the central Utility Plant.
Commence Time: Saturday, October 25, 2014 @ 9:00 a.m.
Completion/End Time: Saturday, October 25, 2014 @ 7:00 p.m. (Approximately)
If you have any questions, please contact Darren Dageforde at 402-559-5278 or Neal Buxcel at 402-559-1829. Since it is vital that everyone working on both the South and North campuses be advised of the steam interruption, please mention it to your colleagues.
