On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, there will be a momentary interruption (shut off) of normal electrical power to the main electrical switchboard that serves all levels of the Williams Science Hall (WSH). This will cause a power outage to all receptacle outlets, computers, lighting, air handling units, supply fans, exhaust fans, fume hoods, motors, etc. throughout each building. The power outage should be as short as a “blink”. If possible, it is recommended that computers and other pieces of sensitive electrical equipment be shut down prior to the scheduled electrical interruption as a safety precaution.
This shut off is required to allow for proper testing and commissioning of new electrical switchgear controls at the Central Utilities Plant (CUP).
Commence Time: Wednesday, June 3, 2015, 6:00 a.m.
Completion/End Time: Wednesday, June 3, 2015, 6:15 a.m. (Approximately)
If you have any questions, please contact Dan Michalak at ext. 9-5048 or Matt Monaghan at ext. 9-7188. Since it is vital that everyone working in the affected areas be advised of this, please mention this electrical power interruption to your colleagues. (click on photo)
The DOC circle drive and a section of Emile St., west to 45th Street will be closed for another upcoming Sunday, May 31. An additional Sunday is required to complete skywalk structural fabrication.
The work that requires the closure may not take all day, and construction teams will re-open the drive and the street as soon as possible. During the closure, the Lot 2 parking structure adjacent to the DOC will only be accessible from the west side, from the 45th St. entrance.
Lot 50, at south side of Emile St., will be available for patient and visitor parking during the circle drive closure. This work is being done on a Sunday to minimize the impact to patients, visitors and staff during busier weekday times.
