ELECTRICAL POWER INTERRUPTION (All Levels)
On Saturday, May 31st, 2014, there will be an extended interruption (shut off) of normal electrical power to the main electrical switchboard that serves all levels of the UNMC 4230 Building / Business Services Center (BSC) – Annex 10. During this time, normal power will be disconnected and only items connected to the emergency power supply will remain energized after experiencing several seconds without power and the automatic transfer switches operate. This will cause an extended outage to all receptacle outlets, computers, lighting, air handling units, supply fans, exhaust fans, fume hoods, motors, etc. throughout the building. Occupants of the 4230 Bldg. are encouraged to remove all food and personal items from refrigerators prior to leaving campus on Friday, May 30th.
The power outage is expected to last approximately sixteen (16) hours. If possible, it is recommended that computers and other pieces of sensitive electrical equipment be shut down prior to the scheduled electrical interruption as a safety precaution.
This shut off is required to allow for electrical utilities work associated with the 4230 Building ITS Data Center Infrastructure Improvements project.
