A new report finds that due to funding cuts, states are skimping on public health, leaving their residents vulnerable to infectious disease and food-borne illness. In this new report by Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Nebraska ranked at the bottom based on 10 measures of policies and capabilities to protect against infectious disease threats. This was in part due to a 1.5% budget cut in public health for Nebraska.
